Kasadyahan sa Capiz Panay (Biggest Bell in Asia)
Panay or Pan-ay
is a third class municipality in the province of capiz. It is the center of the
first act revolt against the Spaniards in Capiz. You can locate here the famous
coral-stone Sta. Monica Church, the home of the largest Catholic Church bell in
Asia. The bell was made from 70 sacks of gold and silver coins donated by the
town folks. Measuring seven feet in diameter, five feet in height and weighing
10,400 kilograms or just over 10 metric tons.
Lingga-anay Fiesta is one of the Kasadyahan here in Capiz. It is celebrated every first week of May. It is a one
week celebrations for all Panay-anons. People enjoyed watching the crowning of
the fiesta queen, cultural show and Baranggay night. In the morning, they can
visit the Product Expo, attend the Mass and a street dancing shown by the youth
of every barangays.
